February 2012 Newsletter

Hello Artists,

Gallery changes abound. At the December Potluck Meeting, the group decided to have a permanent workshop space in the gallery. The members also decided to have a permanent table as a workspace for docents and/or other artists. Consider it done. Paints and supplies have been moved to behind the front showcase. We have new bags and tissue in the sideboard for packaging the sales. There are new (well, new to us) fixtures for “Retail (boutique) sales”. The front area looks very different now. We think we have been successful at this point. Time will tell. We invite you to come in for a visit. We have several new members showing their work, and it is wonderful. Very good show.

Valentines’ Day is almost upon us. If you have something to sell for “I (heart) U” day bring it in, if you need to get something special bring yourself in and see what is in the Gallery. Very unique goodies.

Anna Olson Watercolor Workshop is on Feb. 11, 9 -3. CCC.

Kids Art Day is coming up. March 17th, from 10am to 3pm. This is great fun and we hope you will participate as artists, helpers, etc. Call 534-7690 to sign up. You are tired at the end of the day, but those kids love this day and are sweet and behave, AND are very interested in what we offer. Come and show your work and how it is done, manage a craft, greet the kiddies. I’ll give you a pizza lunch, and you will earn your own warm memories of the day.

Wildflower Festival comes to River Bend Park on April 7th. John Peel will manage this again, call 533-9530. We will be selling at this event.

Feather Fiesta Days are May 5th – 13th. Parade Day is May 12 and the streets are full of folks. You may want to take a booth for sales at Sank Park, at the Municipal Parking Lot at Montgomery and Myers Streets. The Gallery will be open that day.

Stay Healthy and Happy in Art,
